Susan Byrnes Health Education Center
Educating and inspiring people of all ages to make healthy choices.

The Rotary Club of Gettysburg cooperates with the District 7390 of Rotary International sponsored Susan Byrnes Health Education Center  in York, PA.

We currently sponsor health education classes for all students in grade 5 in the Gettysburg Area School District and the Upper Adams School District, as well as all students in grad 4 in the Fairfield Area School District. A traveling van from the Center visits classrooms in each of the districts and presents interactive learning experiences in health education to the students and their teachers. This is one of our major projects that is funded by the Capitol Steps project.


Vocational Service fosters and supports the application of the ideal of service in pursuit of all vocations.

Inherent in the Vocational Service ideal are:

a) adherence to, and promotion of, the highest ethical standards in all occupations, including faithfulness and fidelity to employers, employees, and associates, fair treatment of them and of competitors, the public, and all those with whom one has any
business or professional relationships


b) the recognition of the worthiness to society of all useful occupations, not just one's own or those which are pursued by Rotarians

c) the contribution of one's vocational talents to the problems and needs of society.

Rotary Club of Gettysburg Scholarship Winner
The Rotary Club of Gettysburg offers an annual Vocational Scholarship.  Student applicants are interviewed  for the $500 scholarships toward vocational higher education.

Interact Club
The members volunteer as bell ringers for the Salvation      Campaign.  They also independently raise money which is       distributed to charities of their choice. 


Leadership Conference
High school students are selected to attend this district function.
Our club will sponsor 6 area high school students.
